Our Mrs. Becky ❤️MCADV continues to honor women Who Move Mississippi by uplifting leaders whose empathy creates real change.
Today, we celebrate Rebecca Stewart, Executive Director of Domestic Abuse Family Shelter, Inc., serving 14 counties in Southeast Mississippi. Rebecca is driven by a deep belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported. She shows up for survivors and her community with compassion, purpose, and the steady commitment it takes to help people heal and rebuild.
Rebecca’s vision for Mississippi is clear. She wants a state where survivors are met with compassion instead of judgment, where resources are accessible in every community, and where speaking up is met with support, not fear. Through her leadership, she is helping shape a culture where healing is possible and voices are valued.
Rebecca is also deeply proud to have received the Liberators Award for her work with victims of human trafficking. This title represents something far greater than recognition, for it testifies to what is possible when someone chooses to stand with survivors and help restore everything abuse tried to take from them: their voice, their strength, their power to move forward.
Refusing to step aside until systems shift and healing has room to grow, Women Who Move Mississippi stand firmly in the gap for survivors. Championing every unheard voice, they lead not just with titles, but with action! @dafs_mississippi
